Waterloo Public Square

with one comment

We enjoyed several winter events in UpTown Waterloo including the Olympic Torch Relay and the recent Ice Dogs Festival.  Waterloo Public Square opened to mixed reviews in May 2009. Vast amount of shade-less concrete and a large rusty sculpture dominated the landscape. Several community donors made construction of a skating rink in the square possible and this boosted the image of the area when it opened in December 2009. On Friday, February 26, 2010 there will be the “Appreciate the Skate on Chili Friday” when the City of Waterloo will thank the donors who made the rink in the Waterloo Public Square possible. There will be skating, free chili and hot chocolate, while quantities last.
