Day Trips: The Pinery
Lake Huron at Pinery Provincial Park
Waterloo Region is a good starting place for many interesting day trips. Lake Ontario is about 45 minutes away at LaSalle Park in Burlington. The Grand River empties into Lake Erie at Dunnville which is a two hour drive from Kitchener. Lake Huron is a favourite destination with a number of beautiful beaches just 90 to 120 minutes away from the region. The Pinery Provincial Park has several beaches as well as nature trails, camping and other activities. There is an entry fee to the park but other beaches, such as the beautiful one at Southampton, are free of charge.
