Alpine Road Fair
The annual fair at Alpine Road and Ottawa Street South is set up again for this weekend. Hopefully the weather will improve, but children always enjoy the rides even when it is windy and cold. (map)
Market Band- In the Key of E
This group of musicians played lively, toe-tapping tunes at St. Jacobs Farmers Market on November 13th. The seated guitarist announced the musical key of E to the others and they improvised the tunes from there. It was the first time I have seen a group of shoppers give a round of applause to market musicians.
Oktoberfest Busker
I saw this musician near the corner of King and Frederick Streets in Kitchener. He was ready to welcome people from Canada, United States and Germany. This is the final weekend of Oktoberfest 2010.
Downtown Kitchener Oktoberfest Midway
I have featured a picture of a place of worship each Sunday this year and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church is in the background behind the carnival. The following information is from the Kitchener Downtown website:
The midway hours of operation are Friday October 8th Noon – 9pm, Saturday October 9th, 11am – 9pm and Sunday October 10th, 11 am – 9pm. Advanced tickets for the midway will be available at Hans Haus for only $20 leading up to Oktoberfest.
Oktoberfest is here
Two young girls pose in the cut out of Onkel Hans and his lady counterpart. (Does she have a name?) This picture was taken on Frederick Street between Charles and King Streets. Here is the link to the official Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest website.
