Cut-off to West Montrose
Line 86 is the main road on the right side of the picture. This section of it is also known as the Guelph-Elmira highway. It you are heading north-west from Guelph to Elmira, turn left at Katherine Street and then make a quick right turn to River Edge Drive. This takes you into the hamlet of West Montrose. (map)

West Montrose Covered Bridge
I posted a picture of this bridge almost exactly one year ago today. Here it is from the other side.
The photo below is edited to look the way I think the bridge should look. All those wires are distracting.

Martins Family Fruit Farm retail store still has lots of local produce for sale at competitive prices.
Elmira Maple Syrup Festival
It was a perfect early spring day for the annual Elmira Maple Syrup Festival. We arrived well before 9 AM and Arthur Street was already jammed with pedestrians. It was the busiest I have seen it in a few years and when we returned to Kitchener, the traffic was backed up all the way to Waterloo on the expressway. There is a good variety of street food for sale besides pancakes and maple syrup.
