Trails at Three Bridges
The Trans Canada Trail passes through Waterloo Region in several segments. The Woolwich Trail (No 06-0078) follows the Three Bridges Road across the Conestoga River and through the beautiful rural countryside. This sign points to the Mill Race Trail which leads to St. Jacobs. I like to stop by the low bridge over the Conestoga River and walk along the river. (map)

Muskrat on the Conestoga River
Last week I stood on the bridge and watched a muskrat munching on greens. A Bald Eagle flew overhead and many birds visited the feeders at the trail entrance. Old Order Mennonite buggies travel this gravel road and an Old Order church is just a short distance away near the Hawkesville Road.
