Cricket at Waterloo Park
Playing fields are gradually drying out and sports teams are getting a late start on their outdoor seasons. Cricket games are played at Waterloo Park throughout the summer months. This is a game I know very little about but it looks more interesting to me than football.
Waterloo County Horse Sale
I featured the Waterloo County Horse Sale in a post on June 27, 2009 and it is one of the most searched and viewed subjects on this blog. This horse auction is held on the last Saturday of every month at the Ontario Stock Exchange which is adjacent to the St. Jacobs Farmers Market. The sale starts at noon and today was the third time I have stopped by to take pictures. I had never seen the actual auction take place outdoors before. I put several photographs and a video clip together on iMovie and uploaded this four minute movie to YouTube.
Happy New Year!
Today is the last day of 2010 and we kept the resolution made last January to post a picture about Waterloo Region each day of the year. With so many interesting places and events to visit, the project was enjoyable and not difficult to complete. I don’t promise to keep up with daily posts in 2011, but will continue to add pictures frequently.
Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year!!
