The regular Ontario Hockey League season has come to an end and playoffs start this week. The Kitchener Rangers Awards Banquet was held last evening at Bingemans and my husband, who is an avid fan, took these pictures. I cannot name the players, and even my husband had some difficulty identifying a few of these young men in suits, minus their helmets and numbers. I will edit the post as names come forward.

A new retirement home is under construction next to the current long term care building. It is next to the Laurentian Wetland which has been featured in several post on this site. (map)

Friday October 29, 2010 marked the opening of the new mental health unit at Freeport Health Centre which is part of Grand River Hospital. The new wing is bright and spacious and patients will start to arrive next week. Staff and visitors took tours throughout the day. The photographs on the walls were taken locally by people with mental health issues. They were very poignant and artistically composed. Here is a highly cropped closeup of the photograph on the pillar in the first picture.
