Kitchener City Hall, The Huether Hotel

A friend of ours has watched the show Dan for Mayor. She wrote on her Facebook page,

“it’s cool to see all the familiar K-W sites on Dan for Mayor… most are within 2 minutes of our apartment… noticed one shot on this episode that was filmed literally 5-10 seconds away, right on our street.”

I had completely forgotten that the show was filmed here a while back.

Anyway, the first pic above is of course¬† Kitchener City Hall, used as the “Wessex Town Hall” (Wessex is the fictional town in the show). Below is the Huether Hotel in Waterloo, used as “Fern’s Grill”.

I really hope they come back to film more episodes so that I can check out the sets…

Here is the link to episode one.

Langdon Hall

Langdon Hall Country House, Hotel and Spa

Langdon Hall Country House, Hotel and Spa is located in Blair, Ontario. (map) Completed as a summer home in 1902 by Eugene Langdon Wilks, the 32 room, 25,000 square foot residence was owned by the family until 1982. William Bennett and Mary Beaton purchased the property in 1987 and opened it as a hotel in 1989.

A couple of years ago, we had afternoon tea here to celebrate Becka’s birthday. We enjoyed the beautiful setting, fine food and the superb service from our waiter. I have been here for a couple of other events and would highly recommend it for a special occasion.

Happy Birthday Becka…maybe it is time to book another tea party!
